Mardi Gras may be over, but the fun is only getting started in New Orleans. Springtime in NOLA means crawfish, live music, outdoor adventures and all the festivals you could ever want. While it’s still chilly in many parts of the country, there’s no better time to explore the city and soak up the beautiful weather down in the Big Easy.

Here are a few of the fun things going on this Spring:

  • Festivals. There are festivals just about every weekend in the Spring. There’s the French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, Bayou Boogaloo and tons of others lined up to keep you entertained!
  • Outdoor concert series. On Wednesdays and Thursdays in the Spring, you can enjoy free live music at Wednesday at the Square and Jazz in the Park. And, while it’s technically not a concert, make sure to check out the outdoor projection of Don Quixote, coming to the Sculpture Gardens Wednesday at the Square in May.
  • Spring parades. If you missed Mardi Gras, have no fear! There are several occasions such as St Patrick’s Day and Easter where you can find the most festive parades that locals frequent every year.
  • Courtyard happy hours. With the weather this nice, there’s no need to squeeze into a tiny bar. There are several restaurants with upstairs patio bars as well as courtyards for you to enjoy a relaxing happy hour.
  • Hike, bike and stroll. New Orleans is a very walkable city and you can see all the best sights by bike or foot. Hike the brand-new Lafitte Greenway or checkout Bayou St. John or Crescent Park in the Bywater for a beautiful view along the river front.
